I don’t know enough japanese to actually read what that is saying, but I think someone got confused and mixed up two movie descriptions. Somewhere out there, there is a political movie about te oil rich Middle East that claims is about wizards.
Can’t be bothered to translate it all (and in any case it’s too low-res to read the Kanji easily), but the Katakana bits say “Megahit fantasy”, “Harry”, and “Voldemort”, so draw your own conclusions.
Then I point a finger at a disgruntled translator. And now I suspect that there are movies out there like rated R movies with happy fun G rated descriptions.
Or worse yet ‘Alive’ with the description of ‘Cooking show with unique recipes!’.
I kinda pieced it together. It says something like “Chapter 4 in the megahit fantasy! As Harry becomes a fourth-year student at the Magic School, Lord Voldemort returns!”
Which is accurate, but still a pretty wimpy synopsis in my opinion.
And I’d bet pot brownies to pancakes that the engrish synopsis is supposed to be for “Syriana”
IMHO the description fits to “Kingdom”
It does, but the Kingdom came out in 2007. This poster is from 2005, when Syriana was in the theaters.
Mmmmm… pot brownies and pancakes >_<
actually it says “。。, his old enemy Voldemort finally appears!”
cliff notes FAIL
Someone is going to be REALLY disappointed walking out of that theater.
I watched Harry Potter, and I do remember the subtle undertones throughout of Middle Eastern Oil and politics
Indeed my good sir. Indeed.

Fifth!
lolwut? I dont think JK Rowling has that much creativity to mask a political discourse into her stories… as well written as they are. I just dont see it.
O rly? Did we read the same books? Did you not comprehend the subtle comparison of the Voldemort and the Death Eaters to Hitler and the Nazis? If that’s not some sort of political discourse then I don’t know what is. I’m not saying that Harry Potter is a groundbreaking political metaphor, but there are shreds of it in there if you know where to look.
Hitler and the Nazis yes I noticed that. but Nazi Germany is not an “event happening.” It happened over 60 years ago. Past tense. ^,^
4 LEGS GOOD!
2 LEGS BAAAAAAAD!
Ha! I knew it, Dick Cheney IS Voldemort!
Sometimes I think Dick Cheney might be scarier. =[
yes, because Cheney is actually real and Voldemort is not.
Please leave out those pandas from the images, it’s like explaining the punchline of a joke; not funny.
full ack
“Cathy” is unfunny, and not in the way that makes it hilarious to exploit her unfunniness
also, the pandas are stupid. the big ones that don’t have sex. those pandas.
The panda was the instigator of the political unrest throughout the film
10 point!
Caution! Spoilers! Or oilers.
You guys didn’t know? Voldemort represented big oil, Harry Potter represented the working man who always gets shafted by the oil companies, and it seems neither one can live without the other.
Soooo glad I skipped seeing this one.
I’ve stumbled into too many fanfics on the internet where Voldemort ’shafted’ Harry. It doesn’t end in happiness, unless happiness tastes like vomit and tears.
I too, would like to roll on the ground vomiting. Thanks for putting that disturbing image out. May I have brain bleach now?
Agreed. Lose the pointing panda.
Next movie:
Wanting something different, our heroes spurn the usual repast in the Great Hall and send out for Papa Johns in…
…Harry Potter and the Order of the Pizza!
And to think I used to believe goblet of fire was about homosexuality acceptance
No, just Dumbledore Acceptance.
The goblet of Fire? Isn’t that some sort of alcoholic drink?
Harry potter and the child actors inevitable mental breakdown.
I third the suggestion of losing the panda.
New hit film in Japan: Syriana! George Clooney stars once again as teenage wizard Harry Potter as he enters his fourth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
They didn’t stick to the books as much this time did they?
Have they ever? ^_^
Harry Potter and the Goblet of FAIL
This made me laugh. You win sir.
Rated 1 for the panda– needs to go.
I read the “Mega-hit fantasy” part as well, didn’t bother reading the rest. I might try later.
So that’s why Bush invaded Iraq: so he could see Harry in person!!! NOT.
“Mega-hit fantasy” actually sounds rather accurate of Bush’s foreign policy…
That movie came out at the same time as Jarhead….and that would make sense for the description of Jarhead. I wonder if Jarhead was a magical adventure with teenage wizards?!
