  1. Kit says:

I don’t know enough japanese to actually read what that is saying, but I think someone got confused and mixed up two movie descriptions. Somewhere out there, there is a political movie about te oil rich Middle East that claims is about wizards.

    • Kanchou says:

Can’t be bothered to translate it all (and in any case it’s too low-res to read the Kanji easily), but the Katakana bits say “Megahit fantasy”, “Harry”, and “Voldemort”, so draw your own conclusions.

      • Kit says:

Then I point a finger at a disgruntled translator. And now I suspect that there are movies out there like rated R movies with happy fun G rated descriptions.

Or worse yet ‘Alive’ with the description of ‘Cooking show with unique recipes!’.

      • idickman says:

I kinda pieced it together. It says something like “Chapter 4 in the megahit fantasy! As Harry becomes a fourth-year student at the Magic School, Lord Voldemort returns!”

Which is accurate, but still a pretty wimpy synopsis in my opinion.

And I’d bet pot brownies to pancakes that the engrish synopsis is supposed to be for “Syriana”

  2. motor says:

    cliff notes FAIL

  3. Mike says:

Someone is going to be REALLY disappointed walking out of that theater.

  4. Mr Tenth says:

I watched Harry Potter, and I do remember the subtle undertones throughout of Middle Eastern Oil and politics

  5. Ashley says:

    Fifth!

lolwut? I dont think JK Rowling has that much creativity to mask a political discourse into her stories… as well written as they are. I just dont see it.

  6. James says:

Please leave out those pandas from the images, it’s like explaining the punchline of a joke; not funny.

  7. Mr Tenth says:

The panda was the instigator of the political unrest throughout the film

  8. K2M says:

    Caution! Spoilers! Or oilers.

  9. Donnie Mac says:

You guys didn’t know? Voldemort represented big oil, Harry Potter represented the working man who always gets shafted by the oil companies, and it seems neither one can live without the other.

    • MaxwellEdison says:

Soooo glad I skipped seeing this one.
I’ve stumbled into too many fanfics on the internet where Voldemort ’shafted’ Harry. It doesn’t end in happiness, unless happiness tastes like vomit and tears.

      • Kit says:

I too, would like to roll on the ground vomiting. Thanks for putting that disturbing image out. May I have brain bleach now?

  10. j1n says:

    Agreed. Lose the pointing panda.

  11. California Dave says:

    Next movie:

Wanting something different, our heroes spurn the usual repast in the Great Hall and send out for Papa Johns in…

…Harry Potter and the Order of the Pizza!

  12. Ronald Weezer says:

And to think I used to believe goblet of fire was about homosexuality acceptance

  13. thisisawesome says:

Harry potter and the child actors inevitable mental breakdown.

  14. cb says:

I third the suggestion of losing the panda.

  15. Divided by zero says:

New hit film in Japan: Syriana! George Clooney stars once again as teenage wizard Harry Potter as he enters his fourth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

  16. krimz says:

They didn’t stick to the books as much this time did they? ;)

  17. kyle says:

Harry Potter and the Goblet of FAIL

  18. B3llit0 says:

Rated 1 for the panda– needs to go.

I read the “Mega-hit fantasy” part as well, didn’t bother reading the rest. I might try later.

  19. Hilary says:

So that’s why Bush invaded Iraq: so he could see Harry in person!!! NOT.

  20. Coco says:

“Mega-hit fantasy” actually sounds rather accurate of Bush’s foreign policy…

  21. Dreamkatch says:

That movie came out at the same time as Jarhead….and that would make sense for the description of Jarhead. I wonder if Jarhead was a magical adventure with teenage wizards?!

  22. hahaha says:

    that’s some perfect English!

  23. tolong kita says:

    copy-paste fail… :-)

  24. dukethepcdr says:

Yes, that’s where Voldermort gets the oil to slick back his hair. He needs a lot of it you see.
