Just have to comment here, since I'm in Singapore, and see these drinks all the time. Pretty much everyone under 40 here is fluent in English. It's the most commonly spoken language. Actually almost everyone speaks Singlish which a complex hybrid of English, Mandarin, Malay, with a touch of Tamil thrown in. Singlish is fast, clever and evolving. As such, language games and puns are generally well received here. The tricky part for an ang mor like myself is making sure that the puns translate from English to Singlish. These drinks are named precisely to take advantage of all the jokes that have already been mentioned above. It's not Engrish, it's clever marketing. Also, if you're going to make fun on the name of any of the drinks here, then it should be the one named 'Kickapoo Joy Juice' - named after an old comic apparently. http://www.bevnet.com/reviews/kickapoo/ OK. Just have to comment here, since I’m in Singapore, and see these drinks all the time.

Pretty much everyone under 40 here is fluent in English. It’s the most commonly spoken language. Actually almost everyone speaks Singlish which a complex hybrid of English, Mandarin, Malay, with a touch of Tamil thrown in. Singlish is fast, clever and evolving. As such, language games and puns are generally well received here. The tricky part for an ang mor like myself is making sure that the puns translate from English to Singlish.

These drinks are named precisely to take advantage of all the jokes that have already been mentioned above. It’s not Engrish, it’s clever marketing.

Also, if you’re going to make fun on the name of any of the drinks here, then it should be the one named ‘Kickapoo Joy Juice’ – named after an old comic apparently. http://www.bevnet.com/reviews/kickapoo/
