Remain clam. I am a licensed Asian-American who has spend 14-years lived all over Asia. Please. Just enjoy.

No, it’s Norwegian.

yeah, my bad… but you have to admit, norsk, dansk, and svensk are all very very similar. i forgot that in svensk close is stangt not stengt. its been a few since i lived there. and it took me a while to be able to tell the diffrence when hearing the three.
Yee its not swedish I think Norwegian to but it may be danish to, “vri” sounds like norwegian to me.
In fact it is from a public toilet in Geiranger. I have been there myself and (lacking a camera at the time) wrote down these puzzling instructions. Being Norwegian myself, I managed to lock the door.
Nope… I took it @ Sogneporten in Aurland.
But it seems that det er leverandøren av døren som har laga skiltet..
(“of the door who has made the sign…”)
or* which*
You can spell “Scandinavia” but not “or?”
Ahahaha
;P

Two wrongs don’t make a right,
but three rights make a left!
And four rights make a forward!
And five rights make the first amendment!
And six rights make a backward!
And seven writes make the Harry Potter series! ^_^
See what I did there? :]
i see what you did there just like i could see through your brain.

PS U SUCK!
Nope you suck
That is definitly no German
(or: ‘Das ist definitiv kein deutsch!’)
hahahahhaa, u fucktard its norwegian not german xD
German? WTF somebody doesn’t have a clue…
Ditto.
^ No, “Ditto” isn’t German either :p
True, because Ditto is a pokemans!
http://de.wiktionary.org/wiki/dito
haha, German?xD -Good one
keep of the moonshine son:)
Put your right (left) foot in (out), put your right (left) foot out (in)…
…and shake it all about (don’t do anything).
Fuck it’s norwegian………I’m leaving….
100% Norwegian. Snap! *embarrassed*
HAHA, norsk! :p
To look at the door we need to turn the nob. How do we know where to find it?
It’s on the in (out) side of the door.
Den er på den siden av døra du står.
I knew I could use my telekinetic abilities somewhere!
haha hilarious. i can’t believe this is from norway, i thought we all knew english better than that up here
It’s a typo. Yawn…
really, a typo? perhaps norweigans use a different keyboard layout, but the o and c are not near each other or in similar stroke positions. not to mention ive never know a typo to make the clarity between left and right so obscure!
You should see some of the typos folks in my office come out with on Monday morning, and I live in the US…it may have been more costly in money or time to correct the typo once it had been made than it was to just leave it, or maybe someone just didn’t care they’d made it. They got “lock” right, just above “look”, so yeah, I do think it’s probably a typo…
But still… “Turn knob the right (left)”??
maybe they figure, hey, they turn it enough ways enough times, it’ll open eventually!
Yes.. But the trick here is not to OPEN, but to LOOK.
Your first TYPO-comment = FAIL
I’m confused.
The Norwegian text reads “Twist the button towards the door frame”, which makes no sense; you don’t twist buttons, you push buttons.
It even has failed Norwegian
haha norsk! (norwegian) LOL <3 “the other right” = left. haehaha. XD
Twist the button to your right (left).
A: sir, which direction should i turn? right of left?
B: left..
A : left?
B : right..
I believe this is from a restroom at a bus station in Tromsø, Norway. I remember noticing something like this a few years ago and trying to figure out just how it is possible to make this kind of mistake.
Norwegians are usually quite good at English, but the janitorial staff of the local bus company must have flunked out of school early.
Nope.. It´s taken @ Sogneporten
Witch is in Aurland. Next to the tunnel that goes to Lærdal.
Took the picture about a year ago,
That’s fascinating. I gotta go out to the bus station again, as I’m 99% sure there is something about turning the knob right (left) there, and if that is so, then that means somebody’s actually mass-producing these things.
At the mall “Nordbyen” in Larvik an exact similar sign sign is posted.
This is the first time I’ve seen proper Engrish from Norwegian, and not merely words that have a different meaning. About time!
Shit, it’s på NORSK!
The Julekalender
It’s hard to be a nissemann…
ahhhhh I’m confused now.
right? no left?
Left is right if right is left when up is left and right is left+down
It’s got a nice somber tone to it, like some kind of 4/4/4(5?) haiku.
IS there a 4/4/4 haiku? Darn, this is a question a posed on another part of this site, and nobody answered!
I think they have the precise same sign at the public toilets in the shopping centre Galleriet in Bergen (Norway)!!
I´ll go and check it out…
Actually, the “right (left)” isn’t a mistake at all. And, the “button” thing could be right (wrong) (lol) because, sometimes, if you want to lock doors in Norway, you might have to use a little button thingy, which I personally think is very scary Dx
So…to look at the door, you turn the knob left…and right? Well, okay then. *attempts* GAH! It’s..not…possible!!
The thing is that the button turns right when you’re outside of the bathroom and then left when you’re inside. Hence right (left).
Am I the only one seeing this?
Proud Norwegian who has seen similar signs many times.
Also, if you turn it clockwise, you turn it right on top side and left on the bottom side.
Thats why i hate people saying “turn the volume knob right” … I know what they mean but still. You know, just to have something to hate.
But… There is no knob on the outside. That wold make it quite easy for people to enter the bathroom while people are using it… And that´s what the lock is there for.. Keeping proud Norwegians like you out of the toilet.
mvh
Ikkje så stolt nordmann
Haha, nordmenn eier, men ikke alle oversettere er like gode :p
Hawhaw, Norwegians pwn, but not all translators are just as good :p
The ones above me Fail…
I like osteburger
That’s why we (Swedes) make fun of Norwegians <3
And why we (Norwegians) make fun of Swedes <3
too look the door, open (close) eyes
Turn the knob right (left).
I loled
You have to turn the knob to the right left, cause if you turn it to the wrong left it won’t open
Double fail. There are errors in the norwegian instructions as well.
So…which direction again…?
