One of my friends is a Liquor Queen. Best Liquor Queen ever. And most of the time the rescue Sobriety Sister comes to her rescue. The Booze King just walks home.
Liquor Queen, young and sweet, only 17/Liquor Queen, feel the beat from the tambourine!/You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life/See that girl, watch that scene, diggin’ the Liquor Queen… (only a *very* slight paraphrasing of ABBA…)
It’s only thanks to the bastardization of the Chinese language by the CCP that we have this situation. “After” merged with the character for “Queen” because they sound alike… and we have this result.
You are right.
The use of translation softwares makes a lot of engrish, just because some translation engines only know the “traditional Chinese(TC)” characters used in Taiwan, but not the “simplified Chinese(SC)” characters.
So how did they “simplify” the Chinese?
First, they used less parts in one character but retaining the same meaning.
The second, they use only one character to represent other characters with the same pronunciation.
So, the SC seems to be easier, but actually confusing.

‘Liquor Queen’, huh? Nice work if you can get it.

Can anyone read Chinese well enough to tell us what the sign really says?
Yes, it should say ‘after drinking no drive’ like usual, but the word for ‘after’ is sometimes used to mean ‘queen’, hence Liquor Queen.
‘after’='queen’? Because the queen comes immediately ‘after’ the king?
Pretty much.
Thank you. Then a different symbol would be used for a queen regnant than a queen consort?
The King always comes first. And too soon. :/
