You are right.
The use of translation softwares makes a lot of engrish, just because some translation engines only know the “traditional Chinese(TC)” characters used in Taiwan, but not the “simplified Chinese(SC)” characters.
So how did they “simplify” the Chinese?
First, they used less parts in one character but retaining the same meaning.
The second, they use only one character to represent other characters with the same pronunciation.
So, the SC seems to be easier, but actually confusing.
