gnarly
BEST invention since the DDR landmine!
Just… wow.
Yep… Not bow-wow. Just wow.
I suppose if you blow up whatever’s on fire, that might put it out.
Of course! If you blow it up, there’s nothing left to burn. Problem solved!
The concussion may force the oxygen away from the fire, thereby extinguishing it.
Residual heat and fresh air coming in through the missing wall reignites it.
This concept was used in the great fire of London. They blew up houses so that the fire could not proceed. It worked (at least a little bit) end of arguement.
Bet it wasn’t the end for the people whose houses were blown up.
Bet it was the end when they were blown up.
Surely they got the people out of the houses before they blew them up.
Like putting out the fire with gasoline
Pull pin, throw at fire.

“Bless this, oh Lord, thy Holy Hand Grenade, that with it, thee might blown thy enemies to tiny bits… In thy mercy..”
lol if i’m not mistaken a tried and tested technique to putting out smaller fires is causing some sort of large concussion wave next to the fire and it snuffs it out. Hand Grenades would actually work, lol.
I have heard that before… But you have to have a fire first, a granade would do very nicely in that area too.
It’s actually useful for putting out people also(large or small!)
i bet obama has a few of those hand grenades…….
O.o
This is one of those new and improved grenades – even if you forget to pull the pin, it still does quite a bit of damage if you can hurl it at someone.
Fire?
What fire?
I don’t see a fire.
Just a big, stinkin hole.
You’re welcome.
Since you can’t toss that sucker very far, I hope that thing gotsa long fuse, ’cause you’re gonna have to run like hell in the other direction before that thing blows. ‘cept it might bring the whole building down on top of you.
Could anybody tell me how the top, which I am assuming means something close to ‘fire extinguisher’ or ‘hand-held flame stopper squirter’, could wind up being interpreted as ‘hand grenade’? No clue what the language is on top, let alone being able to read it. Very curious.
“Extinguish” and “destroy” are loose synonyms.
Could have manifested from something similar.
Also… the picture may be cropped.
Who knows what may be hanging above the sign.
(something to think about)
Beside the lockers?
Coolest. School. Ever.
Amazingly enough – that’s a real translation. Back in the 1900s the Harden Hand Grenade was a glass bottle full of foam that when tossed into fires would break open and extinguish the flames.

i want that sign
If anyone throws that at me, I’ll be rather put out!
Yes, but are you a fire?
Don’t start flaming each other – play nice.
I’ve been called a bright spark (among other things!).
Where the heck is Bright’s Park, anyway?
I think it was in Sunnydale, before all Hell broke loose.
Fire grenades were a thin container with some halogenated fire agent in them, usually carbon tetrachloride, that you could throw at the worst of the fire, like into the burning trash can or onto the burning stove, and then run. it would slow things down until a fire squad could show up. They weren’t very effective, the solvents were outlawed, and the released halogens killed people that couldn’t escape and fire crews.
I’ve been a firewatch at a shipyard, and we carry a 56 lb fire extinguisher. Let me tell you, when you accidentally drop one down three plats of a submarine filled with already irritable welders, and it explodes and ricochets off of everything and makes a giant mess, you’d believe it was a hand grenade, and wish it would have killed you instead of leaving you to clean up and apologize to a big burly welder who has a great headwound from a flying extinguisher. *end of story*
Why were the welders already irritable – did they has a PMS?
Yeah–from someone Pilfering My Solder!
Well, just tell them to flux off, then.
There’s no resin for that kind of language!
Yeah! What lead you to do that?
No, wait! DON’T pull the pin!
Looks absolutely nothing like those “school lunch” cluster bomblets. *SIGH OF RELIEF*
Fuuny, I think MythBusters did something on exploding fire extinguishers.
Yes, they also tryed putting out fires with explosives too! It was coniformed.
I don’t recall the charges being cone-shaped.
werr, you have a bad memoly don’t you
FIRE IN THE HOLE!
Go easy on the chili!
*SNERK*
What a blast.
Oh uh, the Chinese text 灭火瓶 (Me ho pin) means fire extinguisher
LOL
But if it were a hand grenade, you could be certain that me ho pin vely, vely tightry.
Fight fire with fire
Pull pin and throw at fire briskly?
