  1. The Mad Zymurgist says:

As Engrish goes, this isn’t too bad. I’d like to have this sign next to my koi pond

    • SeaBee says:

      Koi… or just shy?

    • dr handle says:

My fish (comets) are intimidating my new puppy. It’s hilarious to watch.

      • Kevin says:

I’m watching Craig Ferguson intimidate a television camera from the receiving end. He jumped over his desk and everything. Also hilarious to watch.

As for the sign… you know, I have to think that as the one guy was making this sign, there’s another guy standing nearby going, “Lettem figgur it our fer demselves.”

      • Droll not Troll says:

The older I get, the more fun I get out of watching young animals (especially young humans) learn about the world. Puppies usually give at least as much fun as trouble. With an intelligent breed like a shepherd, you can expect heaps of both. I hope you can make time to train her well.

        • dr handle says:

We’re off to formal obedience school as soon as she has recuperated from her desexing op yesterday. Currently, she is supposed to be having a “quiet” day recovering – most successful strategy so far today has been to give her the core from a pear I had for morning tea; she spent an hour trying to figure out what it was, tossing it about, licking it, carrying it around the room and staring intently at it, and tiring herself out so that she is now snoring gently.

  2. themasha says:

hahahah… this is something that Will Ferrell would say :D

  3. JohnB says:

Shallow water can be unmerciful, too, especially when administered by a CIA agent while you’re strapped to a board.

  4. amethyst says:

Agreed, a very poetic way to say “Beware of deep water, drowning risk” (possibly a swift current).

  5. ericacosta says:

    I love this one!

  6. Hmm says:

I like this. As said above far more poetic than ‘keep out of the water’.

  7. Guess Again says:

Life is perilous…but apparently not as dangerous as a shallow water undertoe.

  8. mach turtle says:

    This isn’t engrish, it’s a life lesson.

  9. toilet shark says:

*lurks in the deep water, not finding it at all unmerciful; it’s quite comfy, actually*
No, no, ignore the sign! Come on in! The water is very friendly!

  10. dukethepcdr says:

Water can be very unmerciful at any depth if you aren’t careful. You can drown in a mouthfull of water if you don’t swallow it right.

    • Droll not Troll says:

And anyone who hasn’t heard the “dihydrogen monoxide” joke should google it now…..

      • paws4thot says:

If that doesn’t work, try “oxygen dihydride”.

      • toilet shark says:

Hey, that stuff will kill you. When will Government take steps to regulate its use in preparation of foodstuffs?

        • JohnB says:

Not only that, but when heated to temperatures commonly used in food preparation, it can burn badly! Excessive quantities in the atmosphere can produce catastrophic flooding! When lowered to a mere 32 degrees Fahrenheit, it can coat surfaces in a terribly slick coating, causing power outages, automobile accidents, trees falling! Let us vow to remove this dangerous hydrogen hydroxide from our environment once and for all!!!

  11. green tea says:

Nice comment on the board. By such time notice, we can restrict people.

  12. Tom says:

This is a “win”! Not only is it a water warning, it’s a bit of a life philosophy!

  13. disque dur says:

Wow what a nice quote, i really like this pic. I will use this words somewhere because i really like this nice quote..

  14. ilikedragon says:

lol this is actually an accurate translation

  15. verminjerky says:

LMAO! This one is especially spectacular. I love that it’s completely accurate, but just sounds so silly! Whoever translated did so perfectly, but had no grasp of English colloquialisms.
