Fjellheisen (English: The mountain lift) is an aerial tramway located in the city of Tromsø, Norway.

The lower station is located near sea-level in Tromsdalen on the mainland side of the city. The upper station is located at Storsteinen (English: The big rock), a mountain ledge about 420 m (1,378 ft) above sea-level. The four minute trip to the upper station is a popular destination in itself, offering visitors a commanding view of the city and the surrounding islands and fjords from an outdoor viewing deck. Food and drink is served in Fjellstua restaurant. Many passengers use the tramway as a launching point for hikes to various mountains in the area, including Tromsdalstinden, the iconic 1,238 m high peak that is easily visible from the city.

The tramway is particularly busy in the summer months, when it is popular with cruise-ship passengers wishing to get a good view of the midnight sun. In winter, weather conditions can be too rough for comfort, and the tramway is usually not open for regularly scheduled operation between approximately November and March.

Fjellheisen is owned and operated by Fjellheisen Tromsø AS

It is the best Korean martial arts practice in Tomball Texas.

  5. la conejita says:

“We need more practice”, let us practice on YOU.

  6. Someone says:

They need more practice in finding a good name. Or at least decent. WTH’s up with “Kuksoolwon”?

  7. sillywhiskers says:

As a current practicioner, here’s a little background. The name is actually Kuk Sool Won (I’m not sure why it’s all crowded together on the car), which in English means “Korean (or, “National”) Martial Arts Association.” The slogan “We need more practice” refers to the constant need to refine and review one’s skills. You never “arrive” because you can always learn more to perfect your skills. Kuk Sool Won is a curriculum that incorporates all 32 Korean martial arts, so it’s a vast amount of material to learn. Yes, I know that the Korean arts borrow from the Chinese, Japanese and other martial arts. I’m not going to preach who’s better than whom; however, I’ve enjoyed it and have learned a lot from it. It’s great exercise, fun, and a family-oriented activity.

    • telefil says:

Sweet – thanks for the info, sillywhiskers!

    • ka0sk1tt3n says:

Thank you, whiskers! =) I, too, am a student of Kuk Sool Won and was in the process of typing up something very similar when I read your response. My first instructor always said, “Practice does not make you perfect. Perfect practice makes you perfect.” So, needless to say, I was actually happy to see this. I miss it terribly. **sigh**

      • Kuk Sool Mom says:

I have two kids here, one a gold-medal winner and both blue belts. Their teacher tells them the same thing. Yes, they always need more practice. As la conejita said…. hehehe

    • schwarz22 says:

I am also a practitioner of Kuk Sool Won. The phrase “We need more practice” is spelled correctly. It is a comprehensive martial art that incorporates all aspects of Korean martial arts.

It has not borrowed from China or Japan–rather, it is the opposite. In fact, early forms of Korean martial arts date back to around 2000 BC. During Korea’s history of foreign invaders (from China and Japan), certain martial art aspects have been taken back to the invader’s countries and morphed into something that is now distinctly Chinese or Japanese. (This kind of cultural exchange happens everywhere, even now).

Here’s a short history lesson: In China, we know about Shaolin Monks and their impressive defensive tactics. These monks established a system around 1000 AD, but in Korea (where Monks were known as the great defenders of Korea) they were established around 550 AD.

People who are not aware of Korean history often make the mistake that Koreans have taken ideas from China and Japan and made a more recent version of martial arts (whereas this may be true for other Korean martial arts, it is NOT the case for Kuk Sool Won).

This is not an Engrish funny–the fact that this picture is posted here is insulting.

  8. Mattis says:

In swedish this is a double fail since “Kuk” in swedish means cock…not referring to the rooster kind…

    • paws4thot says:

So you can see a porential double entendre in there? If so, don’t keep the rest of us in suspenders!

    • Someone says:

If you call that the reason for a fail, an old Dutch TV series called “Baantjer” should be the biggest fail. The main character’s last name was “Cock” (as you can guess, it played in Amsterdam), which he spelled everytime he said his name XD

    • Kid Choronsom says:

This is site is “Engrish” not “Fail Blog”…. Writing Kuk is not “Engrish”… so “double” doesn’t apply either. You claiming “double fail” is a double fail.

  9. Kuk Sool Student says:

I’m not sure how this is even a Engrish example. As sillywhiskers already pointed out, ‘We need more practice’ actually -is- Kuk Sool’s motto for the reason of reminding us we never stop learning.

    • Hebime says:

It’s not Engrish, nor is it English fail.

Its an example of the ‘chair-keyboard interface’ fail that is rampant around here.

Look, you clearly get little if any amusement from this site, yet you continue to come back to it, if only to whine about how unamusing you find it to be. There are some serious masochistic tendencies in you. I think perhaps you might benefit from seeking some professional help for it. I understand that they can do wonders with therapy and medications – you may never ‘cure’ your illness, but there are treatment strategies that can help you manage it and reclaim a life for yourself.

  10. me says:

It’s Korean martial arts, and that’s their trademarked slogan. Do some research, dumbasses.

    • Anna Rexia says:

You should know that the people who run this site (and other similar sites) usually work at paid jobs, as well as going through many submissions to each site every day. That takes a lot of time and dedication. Perhaps you could volunteer to help them by assisting them with pre-screening and researching to ensure that no mistakes are made.

      • JohnB says:

I might add that you said nothing that wasn’t said in earlier posts, except to throw out an insult. So perhaps you should READ THE OTHER POSTS, intellectually challenged donkey.

        • paws4thot says:

It’s not even like it’s a valid argument; Pet Holdings Inc employs several full-time web developers and moderators.

  11. sillywhiskers says:

The “TM” trademark symbol is even on the vehicle, indicating that Kuk Sool Won(tm) is a trademarked name. “We need more practice” is the slogan used in the US, too.

  12. dr handle says:

I give them some internets for using the correct form of “practice”. The whole practice/practise thing is something that many native speakers get wrong.

  13. Queen o' sarcasm says:

HOLY !#@%@! I need practice too!

  14. lexan D says:

Practice makes permanent. A teacher once said.

  15. crism says:

The Kuksoolwon dojang in San Francisco (on Fillmore near Geary) had a huge sign on their wall: “You need more practice.” I always really liked that; no matter what sport, art, or profession you do, it is always true that you need more practice.

  16. yaon says:

On October, 21-24st the corporation «DENAS МS» has taken part in the annual international congress EuroSpine-2009 devoted to problems of treatment of diseases of a backbone. On action which passed in Warsaw, A.A.Vlasov, the deputy director of medicine of Corporation, has acted with the report. Preparation for participation to the congress has begun several months ago: the Application blank and the report “Randomized placebo controllable research of efficiency DENS therapy at patients with osteoporosis crisis of vertebras” have been sent to congress organising committee. In some months the medical centre of corporation has received the invitation to the Action. Formation of the list of reports of the congress was preceded by strict and careful selection: one third has been chosen from the sent works. Representation DENS was included into number of the reports which are worthy. The leading manufacturers of medical technics and known medical institutions of Poland, Great Britain, USA, France, Italy, Greece and other countries have presented their methods of treatment and rehabilitation of patients with diseases and backbone traumas. (It is important also that on EuroSpine-2009 the Corporation DENAS MS was only one Russian company, whose report has been included in the action program). The overwhelming majority of works (about 95 %) has been devoted to the surgical treatment. Other reports concerned ways of rehabilitation by means of physical culture, medicines and others. And only one participant of the congress – corporation «DENAS МS», – has shown possibilities of treatment of spinal patients by means of physiotherapy.
