I guess shaving ice can be a nice way to get started, too!

  2. bluejade says:

    “It?” Like in, Cousin It??

    • JohnB says:

      You raise up your head
And you ask, is this where it is?
And somebody points to you and says
      It’s his
      And you say, what’s mine?
And somebody else says, where what is?
And you say, oh my god
      Am I here all alone?

      Because something is happening here
But you don’t know what it is
      Do you, mister jones?

  3. la conejita says:

I wonder if they got the title from JohnB’s comment about if you don’t use the sponge you get the hose.

    • JohnB says:

“Or else you (he, she, it) get the hose again” is just one of the standing memes here on EngrishFunny, like the “Soviet Russia” one. We believe strongly in recycling here!

      • Gero says:

Wow, this is sad. Apparently no one on this entire site has seen the movie “Silence of the Lambs”. The quotes that are used on the cheezburger sites (including this one), are all versions of Wild Bill’s line “It puts the lotion on its skin, or else it gets the hose again”.

        • Gero says:

Excuse me, Buffalo Bill, not Wild

          • JohnB says:

I’m sure most people on this site have seen that film (and if you haven’t, you MUST!), although I’m sure some don’t remember the line. But here on EngrishFunny, many of us continually make references to other pictures, other posts, etc., in fact so often that the memes take on lives of their own. I know the origin of many of the memes hereabouts, and have tracked down some others, but if you get the gist of the posts here (and actually READ them! If people read all the posts and didn’t just look at the picture, I bet there’d be fewer complaints, because there are a lot of really funny people here!!!), you can often play along even if you don’t know the origin. It’s really kind of like improvisational theater; I may not know exactly where another actor is going, but I’ll do my best to play along and then see what happens, and take it from there. And I get more laughs out of this little virtual theater than many an actual theater group I’ve seen!

            • blueJade says:

I did not see “Silence of the Lambs.” I tend to immerse myself when I watch movies, so I chose carefully.

              • paws4thot says:

I’m not sure whether this means that SotL is a film you should see, or one you really shouldn’t. IMO it would be well worth the effort, but OTOH if you then meet a census taker called Steve…

                • JohnB says:

Definitely not an easy film to watch, but quite compelling. I once attended a workshop on the psychopathic mind, and the lecturer, an internationally known expert in the field, recommended the book as the best exposition of the psychopathic mind available. I did read it, and it was more chilling than the movie. Of course, I’ve seen such utterly warped and conscience-less persons up close, so it was probably more frightening for me than most, who can see it as a work of fiction.

                  • blueJade says:

Stuff like that keeps me awake, watching movies about it isn’t a good time for me. There’s a lot about this culture I prefer to keep at arm’s length.

                  • paws4thot says:

From you, that just confirms my already high opinion of both the book and the film.

            • Meowth says:

I have not yet seen that movie. What is it about? Is it interesting?

              • JohnB says:

If you find the psychopathic psyche interesting, you definitely need to see the film. And the acting was superb. It centers around the interaction between a relatively young and inexperienced, but very sharp and determined, FBI profiler and an incarcerated stone cold psychopath who is perhaps the most dangerous man on Earth. The book is also superb.

                • Meowth says:

Interesting. Maybe I’ll watch it if I ever get the chance, but I’m not going to go out of my way to find it.

        • BuckInARut says:

“APPARENTLY?!” “You don’t know what apparently is!” Walks away from rim of hole to find .44 magnum to blow away self-righteous, presumptuous little twerp away. Plus, nobody messes with Precious.

        • Gobby says:

i saw it. and loved it. and i loved your caption too. it made me LOL, out loud!

        • BYLMDMAN78 says:

yes! finally, i was waiting for that… funny thing is i kept thinking of the ‘joe dirt’ tribute to that scene.

      • Meowth says:

Save the planet! Recycle your old jokes!

  4. haniballecture says:

it gets icecream before it’s puts the lotion on its skins?

  5. BuckInARut says:

It does no such thing; it has the diabeetus.

  6. dr handle says:

If it doesn’t understand the title of this lol, it watches the film “The Silence of the Lambs”, or it gets the ridicule again.

  7. MRDR says:

Who writes the titles? Most of the time, it’s the headlines that make me laugh, more so than the Engrish.

  8. Droll not Troll says:

See “Who The Heck Runs This Site?” above. I suspect it’s him*. I’ve often wondered if he also posts comments. Which avatar would be anybody’s guess.

    *or her.

  9. OrangeJuice says:

I think I’ll make a cap out of your left butt cheek….

  10. Jamie says:

it puts the lotion on the skin
